Wiki / Crucibles

Crucibles

Turn solids into fluids: plants into water, stone into lava.

Wooden crucibles#

A wooden crucible needs no heat. Fill it with plants and it slowly turns them into water. Take the water out with a bucket, or let a hopper empty it.

A porcelain crucible melts stone into lava, but only with heat underneath. Clay and bone meal make porcelain; seven porcelain craft an unfired crucible, which you fire in a furnace.

Heat#

The block under a porcelain crucible sets how fast it melts. Heat multiplies the melting speed.

A torch is enough to start. Fire, or a pool of lava underneath, is several times faster.
