Making barrels#

Every wood has its own barrel, crafted from planks and a slab. A stone barrel is fireproof: keep lava in it. Lava in a wooden barrel sets it on fire.

Composting#

Put compostable items in an empty barrel. When it is full it slowly turns into the result. The table shows how many of each item fill one barrel.

Water#

• Rain fills an empty barrel with water.
• Pointed dripstone with water above it drips into a barrel underneath, the way it fills a cauldron.
• Buckets, bottles and the clay bucket fill and empty barrels.

Mixing#

A barrel holding a fluid turns items you add into new blocks, or changes with the fluid above or the block below it.

Leaking#

A barrel of some fluids slowly changes the blocks around it, using up a little fluid each time.

Milking#

Mobs standing on a barrel are milked into it now and then.

Automation#

Hoppers fill barrels and take finished blocks out. A comparator reads how full a barrel is.
